Executive Coach, Consultant & Facilitator

I consider myself very privileged to have had (and continue to have) an interesting, diverse and rewarding career. As a Sales Leader I was fortunate to have worked for companies like Hudson Bay Co., Nestle Inc. and Levi Strauss and Co. These organizations taught me a lot about all aspects of running a successful business and leading effective teams.

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to learn from some incredibly smart businesspeople. What was particularly unique is I also had the chance to work with not just one, but three inspiring leaders. It was not always a smooth journey, but thanks to the many talents of these individuals I was able to learn about and actually live the link between inspiring leadership and above average business performance.

After many successful years in Sales Management, I made a career change into Human Resources Management with a focus on Organizational Effectiveness. Combining my love of business with a passion for developing people led me to some interesting roles and accomplishments with the University of Alberta, EPCOR and NorQuest College.

Much thought and deliberation led me towards another career path i.e. teaching part time at MacEwan University and starting my own practice. My students in the School of Business HR and Management Studies programs helped me stay current and in touch with a younger reality. My clients continually challenge and inspire me.

All of these experiences have confirmed to me just how important effective leadership practices are to overall organizational performance- private or public sector; unionized or non-unionized, Gen X, Y or Z- doesn’t matter, the leader is a critical piece.

On the volunteer side of my life I am currently a Trustee on the Board of the Edmonton Public Library and a volunteer foster parent with the Edmonton Humane Society. Past Board experiences have included positions on the Boards of SkirtsAfire Festival, Human Resources Institute of Alberta, the YMCA Enterprise Center and for something completely different, the Golden Retriever Club of Canada.

I recharge and renew by getting out into nature and appreciating the simple wonders of life as expressed by the animals that share my home, Cedar, Zorro and Squirrel.
